About Me
My name is Antoinette Burch, though many people know me as Toni. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and empowering space where individuals and families can feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued while navigating life’s challenges. I believe healing begins with connection, authenticity, and the ability to show up without fear of judgment.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Shaw University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University. I am currently provisionally licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A).
Throughout my career, I have gained experience across multiple levels of care, including outpatient services and psychiatric inpatient settings. My professional background includes serving as a case manager, clinical director, and primary therapist while working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I have supported individuals navigating substance use, chronic mental illness, crisis situations, co-occurring disorders, emotional distress, and involvement within the criminal justice system.
What continues to inspire my work is witnessing individuals rediscover their strength, rebuild confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives. I understand that no two healing journeys look the same, which is why I approach therapy with compassion, collaboration, and individualized care tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in helping clients develop healthier coping strategies, emotional insight, self-worth, and sustainable healing.
In addition to therapy services, I’m also a speaker and mental wellness advocate focused on workplace mental health, burnout prevention, emotional wellness, and helping professionals protect their peace while performing at a high level.
At Forward Anyway Counseling, my mission is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: even in the midst of fear, uncertainty, setbacks, or emotional exhaustion — healing and growth are still possible. “Forward Anyway” represents the courage to continue showing up for yourself, even when life feels heavy.
We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering space where individuals can navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and more forward at their own pace.
